Alliance of Women Directors’s Back To Set Symposium and IMGN.AI are partnering to award one filmmaker a $5,000 production grant to help bring their next project to life.
Open exclusively to AWD Members (Directing or Ally) who attend BACK TO SET, this opportunity invites directors to apply for the grant by creating and submitting a Production Book for a short film or feature film using IMGN.AI’s preproduction platform, enhancing your abilities to demonstrate both your creative vision and production readiness.
Every eligible participant will receive complimentary access to IMGN.AI for the duration of the submission period and one full free production afterwards.
One winning filmmaker will receive $5,000 in seed funding from Alliance of Women Directors and IMGN.AI to support the development or production of their project.
What You’ll Create
Using IMGN.AI, applicants will submit a Production Book that includes:
Script Breakdown
- Character breakdowns (Main, Day Player, and Background)
- Scene synopses
- Department breakdowns (Props and Wardrobe)
- Scheduling and set grouping
- Script coverage
Visual Development
- 2–3 character designs
- 2–3 set designs
- Storyboards for two scenes
Eligibility
- Director of Project must be an AWD Member (Directing or Ally) in good standing
- Must be a registered attendee of BACK TO SET: Working Directors Intensive.
- Must submit a completed Production Book through IMGN.AI.
- Projects may be either narrative short films or narrative feature films.
- One submission per filmmaker.
Important Dates
- Contest Opens: June 15, 2026
- Submission Deadline: July 12, 2026 at 11:59 PM PT
- Winner Announcement: August 17, 2026
Judging Criteria
Submissions will be evaluated based on:
- Strength of creative vision
- Quality and completeness of the Production Book
- Effective use of IMGN.AI’s tools
- Project readiness and potential for execution
