Join AWD as a Director Member

By joining AWD as a Director Member, you will become part of an empowering, professional, and respectful community of directors from across all genres and mediums.

To qualify for the AWD Director Membership level, applicants must be 21 years of age, identify as a woman or gender nonbinary, and have directed a feature film, TV episode, TV movie, documentary, commercial, web series or short film that was selected to be aired publicly by an established film festival or distribution company.

Beyond providing incredible networking opportunities among your peers and those at different stages of their careers, AWD programs monthly events focused on the craft of directing and navigating the business side of the industry. Members also have the opportunity to apply to our professional development programs, which take place throughout the year. Through partnerships developed by AWD, we are able to offer member discounts and waivers on film festival submissions and discounts to resources and services from select industry partners. AWD is also proud to now offer Fiscal Sponsorship at a rate of 5% to our Directing Members.

As part of our mission to increase opportunities, AWD adds all members to our searchable database of directors, which is used by producers and productions companies looking to hire directors.
