Celebrating the Soundtrack of Storytelling

Presented by AWD’s Black Directors Advancement Initiative (BDAI) in partnership with Vision & Voices Forum and the Los Angeles Urban League Guild, “Celebrating the Soundtrack of Storytelling” included a dynamic discussion and intimate reception.
Attendees were able to understand more deeply the intersection of music, film, and cultural narrative, and how music shapes the story in film and TV. The conversation was inspiring and engaging, and included a trivia game of playing 6 seconds of a soundtrack to known films, which was a hit with the audience.
“An amazing night of community and insights, the event brought together all levels of creators talking about the power of music and storytelling truly providing a soundtrack to motivate all who attended.” – AWD Directing Member Anastasia Washington
Social Sunday

This month’s Social Sunday was an intimate and supportive event with each AWD member introducing themselves and what they are currently working on. The topic led to exercises encouraging the filmmakers to let go of stressors out of their control and to celebrate their wins, both big and small.
