Stephanie Ruiz is a first generation Latin American who moved to NYC from Boston, MA to study at the "New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts". Although her passion is acting she found interest working behind the camera. She has worked on multiple shows like Run the World, Hunters, Blue Bloods, 9-1-1, and many more. She started as a production assistant and worked her way up to executive assisting TV director, Millicent Shelton. Stephanie explored the industry and then became an executive assistant to show creator/executive producer, Leigh Davenport. She was mentored by these two fearless women and learned everything she could possibly know about filmmaking. She found a passion for taking the lead in story telling and started creating her own films. Stephanie most recently won in the Astoria Film Festival and the Hispanic International Film Festival, along with being nominated 4 times, including the Montreal Independent Film Festival, Blackbird Film Festival, Big Apple International Screenplay Competition, and Ridgewood International Film Festival, and has been selected over 15 times for her short, “Hope You Feel Better”. Most recently she has won best short horror for directing, "Nose Goes" in the Santa Barbara International Movie Awards, La Indies, Jersey Shore Film Festival and still awaiting to hear back from more this year.
