Olivia Kuan began her pursuits in film at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. There, she developed a keen eye for storytelling and launched her career as a cinematographer.

As a DP, Olivia has shot over 30 narrative features and 5 documentary features. Recent releases include The Clearing starring Liam McIntyre, Doe with Mira Sorvino, and most noteably I Blame Society by acclaimed director Gillian Horvat.

Recently, Olivia has become a director. From 2019-2022 she spearheaded a project of her own. The Herricanes is a documentary about women's tackle football that springs from Olivia's own mother's story. The film won the audience award at SXSW and as of 2023 is thriving on the festival circuit.

Olivia also directed a scripted feature in 2022 which premiered on Lifetime in 2023. Moving forward, she has a scripted project in development written by her long time collaborator Gillian Wallace Horvat. The film is a dark comedy about the achievements and struggles of Anita Martini, the first woman to break the locker room barrier in professional sports.
