Writer, director, actor, Nicol Paone, described as a “character goddess” by Variety Magazine got her start alongside Kate McKinnon, Colman Domingo and Billy Eichner on Rosie O’Donnell’s, cult hit, The Big Gay Sketch Show. Her scene in Judd Apatow’s, This is 40 marked her second Apatow film as she had a dramatic turn playing Adam Sandler’s sister in Funny People. She has appeared in numerous TV shows and movies including 30 Rock, The League, Trophy Wife, The Heartbreak Kid, Eagle Eye, and Chick Fight to name just a few. As a writer / director, Nicol got her start at Will Ferrell and Adam McKay’s Funny or Die. In her brief time there she won a Webby Award for Best Comedic Episode and was nominated for an Environmental Media Award for her work on Climate Change with The Obama Administration. Her strong character, improv, and standup back- ground, along with her focus on three-dimensional, female characters and projects make her the extremely sought-after director she is today. Her first feature, Friendsgiving, a film she wrote and directed was produced by Ben Stiller & stars Kat Dennings, Chelsea Peretti, Aisha Tyler, Malin Akerman, Deon Cole, Jane Seymour, Wanda Sykes, Ryan Hansen, Fortune Feimster and more. Released in theaters and PVOD worldwide in October of 2020, Friendsgiving enjoyed the #1 spot on iTunes, Fandango and Redbox and can now be seen on Netflix.
