Kim Furst is an award winning director and documentary film editor with editor credits including Discovery Channel’s ROCKET CHALLENGE, ONE SIX RIGHT, REACH starring Harrison Ford, and the PBS series THE HORSEMEN COMETH.
She oversaw production of behind the scenes documentaries for a number of studio features, including Tom Cruise and J.J. Abrams’ MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: III - for which she earned Paramount Pictures a Golden Satellite Award, the "special features content" industry’s highest award.
Her documentary feature directoral debut FLYING THE FEATHERED EDGE was listed by FLYING Magazine listed as one of the top 16 aviation films of all time, along with Top Gun, The Right Stuff, and Apollo 13. Awards include: Combs/Gates Award ($20,000 filmmaker grant) from the National Aviation Hall of Fame, the Soldiers and Sacrifice Award (RIIFF). Her narrative short THE CITATION received The Karen Black Award for Excellent in Independent Film, and she has received CIFF's "Rising Star Award," LVFF's Golden Ace Award and IFQ's "Best Music Video" for HOLLOW which she wrote and directed for Beck's sister Alyssa Suede.
Her upcoming documentary LIVING AFTER MIDNIGHT features Roger Daltrey, Gene Simmons, Sammy Hagar, Judas Priest and Nancy Wilson, and explores a cultural phenomenon that has been going on in Los Angeles, New York and other cities for 21 years.
