My name is Katrina Mitchell. I am a director, writer, and “whatever else you need to get done”-er! I have been defying expectations since 1986, and I've been a storyteller all my life. I graduated from Drexel University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications: Global Journalism, with minors in Film and African American Studies. I went on to complete my Master of Fine Arts in Motion Pictures and Television, Directing Concentration. I am the founder of TVAnansi, a video streaming platform. I have produced, written, and/or directed over 20 projects, including short films, web series, television series, and music videos. I am also the author of two books, each a collection of short stories and poems entitled ​She Lives and ​Text Messages respectively. My goal is to use storytelling to change and expand cultural narratives for people of African descent in the US and around the world. I am a Capricorn Mama to a Piscean Diva, and I bring my passion for storytelling into everything I do.
