Janelle Lee Austin is a Texas-based writer whose work lives between comedy and drama, focusing on stories rarely centered on screen—women wise in their years. Her scripts have earned recognition from the Austin Film Festival, ATX TV Festival, Shore Scripts, and Big Apple Screenplay Competition. A graduate of Texas State University’s film program and former board member of Women in Film & TV Austin, Janelle brings decades of lived experience to bold, character-driven storytelling that challenges how women over 50 are portrayed in film.
