Aisha Tyler is an award-winning film and television director who specializes in impactful genre storytelling, infusing compelling set pieces with rich character development to ask fundamental questions about the human experience.

Her feature debut, the psychological thriller AXIS, was an official selection at eight major US festivals, winning Outstanding Achievement in Feature Filmmaking at the Newport Beach Film Festival and Best of the Fest at the Sarasota Film Festival. Scene Magazine wrote “the directorial debut of Aisha Tyler is a revelation... brilliant in every way.” And Paste Magazine wrote, “to make a film this experimental, this compelling, your first time out as a director is just extraordinary.”

Aisha’s second feature, the fever-dream psychological thriller I HOPE WE CAN STILL BE FRIENDS, premiered at the 2025 Galway Film Fleadh and Newport Beach Film Festivals. It is slated for release in 2026.

Aisha has directed multiple episodes of award-winning hit television, including THE WALKING DEAD, FEAR THE WALKING DEAD, ROSWELL NM, EVIL, ELSBETH and CRIMINAL MINDS: EVOLUTION.
