We are excited to have launched this Q&A Series, “Sunday Tea with AWD” featuring many of our incredible Advisory and Honorary Board members, as well as industry guests. Join us for talks on all things directing, featuring a different speaker(s) each week who will share their expertise on a wide range of topics related to the art of telling stories in film, television, and new media.
Topics will include:
Building trust with actors and the rehearsal process
Working on both sides of the camera
The differences between film and television
The importance of role models

Christine Lahti has been a working actor for over four decades after her initial breakthrough role in …And Justice For All. Just five years later, she would receive her first Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress in the film Swing Shift. She would also garner an Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film for her film, Lieberman in Love, in which she starred and directed. In addition, she directed, My First Mister which opened the Sundance Film Festival. Christine has also won a Golden Globe for her work on Chicago Hope, and can be seen in the hit NBC show, The Blacklist.
While maintaining a successful film and television career, Christine also has developed a noteworthy Broadway career, starting with her 1980 Broadway debut in Loose Ends and then as Heidi in The Heidi Chronicles by Wendy Wasserstein. Recently on the stage, she completed a run as ‘Gloria Steinem’ in the hit off-Broadway play, GLORIA: A Life which will aired on PBS Great Performances this June. Next for Christine is the role of ‘Sheryl’ in the second season of the acclaimed CBS show, Evil, created by Michelle and Robert King.
