What separates functional coverage from truly cinematic storytelling? Often, it’s the creative partnership between a director and cinematographer.

Join Alliance of Women Directors for a craft-focused conversation exploring how directors and DPs collaborate to create intentional visual language, from the earliest stages of prep through production. Panelists will discuss how they communicate creative vision, develop shot lists and visual references, approach lighting and camera movement, and make choices that support performance, character, and story.

Whether you’re an emerging filmmaker looking to strengthen your collaboration skills or an experienced director interested in refining your visual approach, this session offers practical insights into one of the most important creative relationships on set.

Panelists:
* Aisha Tyler
* Keesha Sharp
* Valentina Caniglia
* Tarin Anderson

Moderator:
* Kylie Eaton, Executive Director, Alliance of Women Directors

After the panel, join Alliance of Women Directors for an informal attendee meetup at 1:00 PM, immediately following the session. It’s a great opportunity to continue the conversation, connect with fellow directors and cinematographers, and learn more about AWD’s programs and community.

Be sure to stop by the Alliance of Women Directors table on the Expo Floor throughout Cine Gear to meet our team, learn about upcoming programs and events, and connect with fellow filmmakers.

Please note that attendees must be registered for Cine Gear Expo to attend this panel. For registration information and event details, visit the Cine Gear Expo website at cinegearexpo.com
