“As a passionate advocate for women, non-binary, & WOC’s voices and perspectives in media, I am drawn to AWD’s mission of empowering and amplifying these voices. By joining the board, I aim to leverage my skills, experiences, and network to support and innovate within AWD’s initiatives in fostering mentorship, advocacy, and professional development for women directors.” — Melissa

“I am honored and grateful to be on the board of AWD with a team of passionate and engaged women, and have the opportunity to help grow, expand, and support this dynamic and talented community. I hope to give back to an organization that has given me invaluable support, resources, and community. I hope we can all continue to grow together, support each other, and lift each other up as we all move forward in our careers. I am excited to co-chair the Member Relations Committee with Jan and look forward to relationship building and serving as a resource to support our members.” –Amanda

During her 3 years as a member, Amanda assisted both the Events and WIP committees. She has been directing and producing documentaries, branded content, digital content, and TV for 14 years and is focused on social impact and building human connection through storytelling.

“In an industry where women are still being undervalued and talents overlooked, I chose to serve on the AWD board to contribute to cause bigger than myself and to help break glass ceilings and develop trailblazers in this industry.” — Anise

Anise began volunteering for AWD as the Events Chair for its Black Directors Advancement Program (BDAI). She has directed award-winning short films and produced pilots and short films. She also serves in DEI capacities at Warner Bros and NBC Universal.
