Vicky Jenson’s cross-discipline career extends from animation to live action, tv to feature films, shorts, a national commercial campaign and an Academy Award winning film.
Early on, while storyboarding for directors like Wayne Wang and John Hughes, she developed a unique visual style earning design and art direction positions for Ralph Bakshi as well as on the groundbreaking animated series The Ren and Stimpy Show and eventually as production designer on live action and animated features.
Jenson’s first feature directing credit was for the critically acclaimed, Oscar-winning "Shrek", spawning the multi sequel franchise. While directing her second animated feature, the Oscar nominated "Shark Tale", she made her live action directorial debut short Family Tree. After premiering at Sundance the short screened at festivals worldwide, including SXSW, Aspen, Edinburgh and Melbourne and went on to win a multitude of festival awards leading to her first live-action comedy, Post Grad, for Ivan Reitman’s Montecito Pictures and Fox Searchlight (3 stars from Roger Ebert!)
Jenson’s work has earned countless awards, including an Academy Award, recognition from the Annies, BAFTA, the Broadcast Film Critics Association, Cannes, the People’s Choice Awards and the Golden Globes. She is currently directing an animated feature for Skydance and is developing a fantasy hybrid to follow.
