Tara Parian

Tara Parian is a queer Los Angeles-based writer/director originally from New Hampshire. For the past ten years she was a staple on the BuzzFeed Studios branded content team. Starting as a copywriter and working her way up to in-house director, she wrote and directed hundreds of pieces of content during her time there.

Tara has directed everything from short scripted comedies to celebrity press junket videos and award winning short documentary pieces. She’s been honored with a Best in Show Advertising Award and is a Webby Award Honoree.

Tara is a fellow of the prestigious Ryan Murphy HALF Directing Initiative where she shadowed an episode of 9-1-1 Lonestar on FOX. Prior to that she was accepted into the Alliance of Women Directors Shadow Program, the Women in Film Mentorship Program and multiple Sundance Directing Initiatives.

In April 2024 Tara wrapped production on her short queer comedy film 'Match Dot Mom.' The script for the project was developed at UCLA Extension and was recently nominated for Best Screenplay at the 2024 Hollywood Comedy Shorts Festival.

Tara’s previous short scripts have been finalists in ScreenCraft’s Film Fund and Scriptapalooza’s Screenwriting Competition. She is passionate about creating comedic stories revolving around the queer experience and is currently writing a new rom-com titled 'Skate Night.'
