Tamika is a Virginia native who attended The American University & Howard University with a BA in Performing Arts & Theatre while continuing her studies in film at the NY Film Academy and AFI. Her first screenplay, JAR BY THE DOOR, was a Sundance Finalist and won several awards including the Gordon Parks Indie Film Award. Other honors include: ABC/Walt Disney Fellowship, CBS Director’s Initiative and AFI’s Directing Workshop for Women Fellowship in which she wrote, directed and produced the multi-award-winning short film, HOPE. Tamika has produced several other films including the award-winning SPIN, which she also directed.

Tamika was a writer/supervising producer for the Amazon Prime/AllBLK show MONOGAMY for 3 seasons and was a writer & showrunner on a series of shorts for Effie T. Brown/Gamechanger films. She also produced the Tribeca Audience Award winning doc feature FERGUSON RISES.

Tamika sold 2 TV series into development at Paramount/Searchlight, w/Billy Porter & Hanelle Culpepper attached as EP/Directors.

Tamika also wrote, produced and directed the short “Superman Doesn’t Steal” which recently Premiered at the Oscar Qualifying Pan-African Film Festival & won the Audience Award. She is a Rideback Rise Circle Fellow & Finalist for the Shondaland Director Mentoring Program.

Tamika created the non-profit, Make A Film Foundation.
