Myrakel Baker is a filmmaker and multidisciplinary artist. Rooted in cinema, her practice often weaves forms to explore memory, lineage, and the poetics of everyday life. Her debut feature, Bayou Dreams, draws from the textures of the South to tell a nonlinear story of motherhood, loss, and ancestral healing. With a voice both intimate and expansive, Myrakel creates work that blurs boundaries—between narrative and experimental, personal and political—crafting visual worlds where preservation becomes resistance, and storytelling becomes a ritual of care.
