Marisé Samitier is an awarded director and twice optioned screenwriter born in Spain and living in Los Angeles. Marisé has an MFA in Screenwriting from UCLA. She is alumnae of the prestigious American Film Institute’s Directing Workshop for Women. She wrote and directed her first short film THE RING in the late 90’s, and from then on, she has written and directed BAZAAR, THE VIRGIN, THE RETURN OF REASON, APARTMENT 427, AMORES CIEGOS (LOVE, INTERTWINED) and DEATH OF A HOUSEWIFE. All her shorts have received multiple awards in the international film circuit. Her feature length scripts have placed in Nicholl, Austin and Page among other screenwriting contests. She just finished postproduction on a music video on ageism for iconic punk rocker Alice Bag. Currently, Aralan Films and Dana Lustig Films have come aboard to produce her feature length, action thriller AFRICAN HARVEST. The project went to Cannes 2017 where it found a sales agent, a European coproducer, and an investor. Marisé is also developing a feature length, romantic thriller A FISTFUL OF ASHES, which she plans to direct in 2019. She is member of WIF (Women in Film), EWA (European Women Filmmakers), ADW (Alliance of Women Directors) and WGA (Writer’s Guild of America) Independend Caucus. Marisé lives in Los Angeles with her husband and her 10-year old daughter who keeps them young and playful.
