Lisa Bass grew up in Santa Monica a surfing beach kid. The daughter of an artist and a businessman, she grew up with creativity and practicality fighting an ongoing battle inside her. She found inspiration in the fantastical films of Charlie Kauffman, and Stanley Kubrick who threw caution to the wind to create films that felt like paintings and symphonies in their embrace of pure creative energy. Her film Here was a semifinalist for the HBO Directors Fellowship and her other projects have screened at festivals around the world and she most recently was selected to join the 2019 Women In Film Peer Mentorship program. Her dream is to throw practicality to the wind and pursue her filmmaking passions full time, directing emotionally grounded stories set within heightened realities for film, tv or future visual storytelling platforms.
