Drica Armstrong is a published author and screenwriter. Born and raised in Elizabeth, New Jersey, Drica Armstrong once envisioned a future in law…until a junior high school assignment changed everything. Asked to write an original story, she discovered a natural gift for crafting compelling characters and immersive worlds, setting her on a path toward storytelling.
Drica went on to earn both her Associate’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Computer Science from Newbury College in Brookline, Massachusetts. Blending her analytical background with her creative instincts, she published her debut novel, Beautiful Liars, followed by Hide and Seek under her own imprint, Double Take Publications, in 2011.

Her passion for storytelling soon expanded beyond the page and onto the screen. Drica earned her Master of Fine Arts in Screenwriting from Full Sail University, sharpening her voice as a filmmaker. Her debut feature, His Dying Wish, now streaming on Tubi, stars David Harris and marked the launch of her film career as she wrote and produced the film. She continued building momentum with the horror film The Step Daddy, featuring Vincent M. Ward and distributed by Lionsgate.

Drica’s versatility as a storyteller shines in her holiday film The Business of Christmas, which premiered on BET+ in December 2020 and stars Roger Guenveur Smith and Daphne Maxwell Reid.
