Born in Gary, Indiana, and raised in Long Beach, California, Britt Banks is an award-winning director and screenwriter, dedicated to amplifying the voices of women and girls of color. Her profound short film THICKE has garnered numerous awards and grants. Her award-winning short film BLUE LACES was acquired by Magic Johnson's Aspire TV and has screened internationally at Academy Qualifying Film Festivals. In 2023, Blue Laces screened at the prestigious Directors Guild of America during the Sistas Are Doin' It For Themselves Film Festival.

A graduate of the University of California, Irvine, Britt has 15 years of experience in the entertainment industry including network TV experience at NBCUniversal as a previous employee of their Content and Production department. Britt has directed 8 short films, 5 web-series episodes for the writing label, Damn Write Originals, and a micro-budget feature film currently in post-production. In addition to directing and writing for film, Britt works as a digital imaging technician and media manager on physical productions. Her work can be seen on Monkeypaw Productions' HONK FOR JESUS. SAVE YOUR SOUL. Britt is also the founder of Earfquake Entertainment, a small production company based in Los Angeles and Atlanta.

Britt is a 2020 Black Life Film Festival grant winner, and a 2022 Film Impact Georgia grant finalist and runner up.
