Angelia Baxter is writer, director, designer, and photographer with a passion for capturing the heart of the human experience.  Her filmmaking journey began in live six-camera shoots as both camera operator and director, where she learned to think fast and roll with the chaos, a skill that’s served her well across many roles, from First Assistant Director to Title Designer and Director. Angelia’s narrative directorial debut, Lesson 1: Resilience, was selected and screened at the Queer Women of Color Film Festival and the National Queer Arts Festival. Her Line Producer work assisted in earning the Producer’s Award for Happy Accidents, showcasing her versatility and commitment to the craft.

Beyond film, Angelia’s background in UX design fuels her ability to simplify complex and layered storytelling.  She brings a unique blend of empathy, visual storytelling, and problem-solving to her films and photography. She’s obsessed with how humans interact with each other and with the world and she brings that same thoughtful, empathetic approach to every frame she captures. Her photography also reflects a love for the authentic, the real, and the raw.

When she’s not behind the camera or creating, Angelia is probably juggling multiple creative interests of building an app, art wellness, sculpting, poetry, and photography, while plotting the path to her first Writer/Director feature.
